At Leonardo da Vinci airport all the machines of the Genius of the Renaissance

The first full exhibition of the twenty-one machines and instruments for flight designed by Leonardo da Vinci and built by the Anthropos Foundation from the original materials and in the intended size opens tomorrow, October 12, at Terminal 1 - Leonardo da Vinci airport departures.
11 October 2011-The space given over to the event will become a real permanent ArtGallery that will see a parade of names and personalities that have made Italy great internationally. The exhibition (12 October 2011 - April 12, 2012) is open to all passengers and those accompanying them: it can be seen by those who have gone through security from 8.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m; from 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., on the other hand, it will be open to the general public.
"It is with great pleasure- said Fabrizio Palenzona, President of ADR - that the Aeroporti di Roma company , is inaugurating a permanent exhibition space with a prestigious exhibition devoted to one of the men most representative of Italian genius, to mark the airport's fiftieth anniversary. Leonardo da Vinci is the exceptional witness to the vitality of the country and his tenacity, passion and genius placed him among the forerunners of the dynamism and modernity of the airport that bears his name. Leonardo da Vinci airport, the natural hub of the Mediterranean, plays an important role in promoting Italian cultural heritage. The airport is also Development: with its plans for expansion, which see 2020 and 2044 as fundamental steps it aims to become the largest infrastructure project in Italy and Europe."
The special guests are the two Italian astronautswho participated in the last mission on the NASA Space Shuttle and who, on the opening day of the nationwide celebrations marking 150 years of Italian unification, with a link to the official residence of the President of Italy, unfurled the flag that the President himself had given to them before their departure.
The new Art Gallery at the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, Terminal 1 departures, will also exhibit the Portrait of Leonardo (insured for € 25 million) - known as the "Portrait of Acerenza" - and it will give a chance to take a very beautiful and highly educational journey through the universe of the great genius of the Renaissance in the Multi Media Immersive Gallery (open to all from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.),. This installation, a truly virtual museum, will host several exhibitions and installations over a six-month period.
