Set in the heart of the Euganean hills, Montegrotto Terme is one of the most important spa resorts in Italy and Europe.
The Romans were already great connoisseurs of the therapeutic properties of this water, springino out of the mountain at very high temperature (about 87°C).
In Montegrotto Terme, in fact, it is possible to visit the largest archaeological site of the Euganean hills: a thermal complex with three tubs for full immersion and a canalization system, a small theater and a ninphaeum.
Other interesting places are the Duomo di San Pietro e Paolo, the Oratory of the Madonna Nera (1724), Villa Draghi's gardens and the Butterfly Arc (the House of Butterfly), a huge greenhouse with approximately 500 species of butterflies coming from all over the world.
