A small town of the Pavese Oltrepò area, situated in the valley of the river Scuropasso, Rocca de 'Giorgi became in 1195 a fief and belonged to the Aredengo Campeggi Family. In 1385 the town was ceded to the Sannazzaro and then it passed, by inheritance, to the Beccaria, who rebuilt the castle.The properties of Beccaria, whose last heir died in 1629, were purchased by Count Giorgio of Vistarono (also owners of Pietra de 'Giorgi), who built the castle that features there name still today.It is a major center for wine producing with its fine Pinot (pink, red and spumante) and preserves, a natural environment very well maintained, with the ruins of the castle of Beccaria and the splendid residence of the Counts de' Giorgi of Vistarino
